Apartments exposed. Concrete and twisted metal scattered across the street. Social media videos show crowds rushing to help the wounded. Lebanese health officials say four women and four children were among the injured.

Hezbollah has no seat at those talks. Its leader Naim Qassem said disarming the group would be fulfilling the enemy’s objectives. Everyone is talking. Nobody is stopping.
Lebanon was dragged into this war on March 2 when Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel in retaliation for the strike that killed Iran’s supreme leader. Israel responded with an air campaign and a ground invasion in the south. A ceasefire has been in force since April 17, in name only. Both sides have violated it repeatedly. Sunday’s attack is the third on Beirut since that truce began. The first two targeted Hezbollah commanders. This one hit an apartment building.
