Switzerland is gradually reopening its embassy in Tehran, according to its foreign ministry.
The embassy plays an important role in representing US interests in Iran as a protecting power.

Switzerland’s foreign ministry says the decision was taken in consultation with Iran and the US, and it is prepared to provide its offices to support “all diplomatic initiatives that contribute to de-escalation and a lasting peaceâ€.
